Blue and Pink Preppy Tween Room Design
This post is all about my preppy tween room design.

This preppy tween bedroom is giving soft, girly-meets-grown-up chic, and I am here for it. Think powder-blue stripes, blush-pink velvet, and gold accents that feel so sweet.
Have you ever wondered what your home decor style is?
I built the design around the blue-and-white striped bedding set. I wanted to weave in a few colors in addition to blue and white, so I found the cutest area rug with hues of pink, blue, and subtle green. This makes the pops of pink and green throughout the room feel like they were made for this space.
I’ve linked everything you see in the design below so you can shop the look and bring it to life in your own home. The furniture and decor pieces are from Wayfair, and I’ve also paired four Benjamin Moore paint colors that work beautifully with this room — scroll down to the bottom to see the design with each color on the walls!

Cute Pink Chair
This chair is pure eye candy with its scalloped back, tufted seat, and gold legs. It is the kind of statement piece that makes a room feel finished and gives her a cozy reading or makeup spot.
Blue Striped Pouf
This little cube ottoman adds extra seating or a spot to rest your feet. It is such a simple addition, but it really rounds out the seating area.
Blue and White Striped Bedding
This classic striped bedding is the true star of the room and what inspired the entire design. It is timeless enough that you don’t have to worry about her outgrowing it anytime soon.
Upholstered Bed With Storage
This bed has a simple, clean headboard that keeps the focus on all that dreamy bedding instead of competing with it. I wanted something neutral and soft here so it would work no matter how her style changes over the years.
Scalloped Dresser
This dresser has the sweetest scalloped detail along the bottom that keeps it from feeling too basic or boring. The clean white finish means it will work with whatever color trends she gravitates toward next.
Preppy Blue Wall Art
These three framed prints mix soft blue florals with a sweet bow illustration in the middle, all on striped and floral backgrounds. I love how they add that preppy vibe to the room.
Area Rug
This rug brings in the prettiest muted pinks and blues in a vintage-inspired pattern that grounds the whole room. It ties all the colors throughout the room together.
Table Lamp
I love how this lamp mixes a classic pleated cream shade with a fun green ceramic base for a little unexpected color. It is easily one of my favorite lighting moments in this whole design.
Pink Nightstand
This nightstand has the prettiest curvy silhouette. It is such an easy way to bring in color without committing to a big furniture piece.
Decorative Preppy High Heel
This little heel accessory is such a fun, girly styling piece on top of the dresser. It adds a playful glimmer that feels right for a tween who is starting to develop her own sense of style.
Pink Bow Pillow
This oversized bow pillow is such a fun, playful detail that makes the bed feel more special. It is the kind of piece that photographs beautifully and just makes the whole space feel a little more fun.
Blue and Cream Book Stack
I love styling a few books on the dresser for a little color and personality, and it gives her a spot to actually display some of her favorites. It is such a small detail, but it makes the space feel lived in.
Scalloped Curtains
These white curtains have the sweetest wavy blue edge detail that ties right back into the striped bedding. They let in plenty of light while still adding that soft, preppy look to the windows.
Decorative Mirror
This oval mirror with its bow detail on top is easily one of my favorite finds for this room. It adds such a romantic, vintage aesthetic and looks so pretty propped against the wall on the dresser.
Paint Color Matches
Choosing a paint color can be one of the most challenging aspects of designing a room. Here are four Benjamin Moore paint color options to give you an idea of how the room could look with different wall colors.
The Benjamin Moore paint color matches for these rooms are:
- Distant Gray
- Rosemist
- Whispering Wind
- Flower Box
