Blue and Orange Astronaut-Themed Toddler Boys Room Design
This toddler boy bedroom is giving full-on space-explorer vibes, and I am completely obsessed — think rocket-ship rugs, planet wall art, and the cutest space-print bedding, all pulled together with blue, orange, and warm wood tones.

I had so much fun putting this one together, because what little boy doesn’t want to feel like he’s sleeping in a rocket ship?
Have you ever wondered what your home decor style is?
When I started planning this room, I knew I wanted it to feel fun and playful. The goal was something that actually looks designed and intentional.
I leaned into natural wood tones to keep things warm and grounded. A super sleek bed with built-in bookcase storage, which is perfect because kids’ rooms need every inch of smart storage they can get.
I layered in gray ottomans and a white dresser to balance the wood, and then let the accessories and textiles do all the fun talking.
In this post, I’ve included links to all the elements in the designs so that you can recreate the look in your own home. The furniture and decor in this mood board are from Target. The paint colors are from Benjamin Moore.

Room Design
Choosing a paint color can be one of the most challenging aspects of designing a room. Here are four Benjamin Moore paint color options to give you an idea of how the room could look with different wall colors.
Rocket Ship Piggy Bank
This little rocket ship piggy bank is such a fun and functional decor piece for a little boy’s room.
Storage Ottoman
These round, gray ottomans are so practical, and I love that they’re neutral, so they don’t compete with all the color happening elsewhere in the room. Kids can pull them out, sit on them, pile books on them — they just work.
White Dresser
This dresser is clean, simple, and exactly what a kids’ room needs as a backdrop piece — it doesn’t compete with anything but still feels intentional and pulled together.
Blue Locker Nightstand
I am obsessed with this blue locker-style piece — it’s giving industrial meets kid’s room in the best way, and that Faded Denim color is perfect. It works as both a nightstand and extra storage, which is such a smart use of space in a smaller room.
Curtains
These curtains are doing the quiet, important work of grounding the whole room — they’re neutral enough to not compete with anything but add that polished, finished-window look that makes a room feel complete.
Astronaut Decor
These little astronaut decor pieces add a sweet finishing touch throughout the room, and they’re nice enough to keep working even as your child gets older.
Space Wall Art
This framed planet print on a navy background is giving the room the final layer of intentional design it needs — it’s colorful and playful, but also genuinely pretty.
Rocket Ship Rug
Okay, this rug is everything—it’s shaped like a rocket ship, which is so much fun for kids. The colors hit every note of the palette (blue, orange, gray, white), tying the whole floor together into one fun piece.
Rocket Ship Pillow
What kid doesn’t love snuggling up with a rocket-shaped pillow?!
Bed Frame
This bed is doing serious work in the best way — the headboard doubles as a bookcase, so there’s room for books, little figurines, whatever your kid is currently obsessed with.
Orange Pillow
This little orange pillow is doing a lot of heavy lifting in terms of tying the color palette together. It’s simple, but it punches up the bedding beautifully and echoes the Golden Harvest tones in the rug.
Space Bedding Set
The bedding is truly the star of this room — it’s covered in rockets, astronauts, and planets in the most cheerful, not-too-babyish print. It pulls in every color from the palette at once, making pulling the rest of the room together feel almost effortless.
Paint Color Matches
The Benjamin Moore paint color matches for these rooms are:
- Ultra White
- Cumulus Cloud
- Golden Harvest
- Faded Denim

Conclusion
This space bedroom is one of my favorites I’ve put together because it really shows how a theme can feel fun and imaginative.
The key is keeping the furniture clean and neutral and letting the accessories and textiles carry the personality — a rocket rug here, a planet print there, and suddenly the whole room tells a story.
