This post is all about my boho Western bedroom ideas mood board! I grew up in the Southwest and am a huge fan of Western decor.
This Western bedroom design makes me feel very nostalgic and reminiscent of all the Southwestern decor I have seen throughout most of my life.
In this post, I will take you through each element that makes up this master bedroom idea and explain some of the reasons I chose it. I hope this helps you as you work on creating a bedroom that you love and is a reflection of your personality. Let’s dive in!
Boho Western-style decor offers a unique and eclectic charm that is perfect for infusing personality into a master bedroom design.
Drawing inspiration from the free-spirited essence of the American West and the vibrant colors and patterns of bohemian culture, this style creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Incorporating elements such as rustic wood furniture, vintage textiles, and natural materials like leather and jute adds a sense of authenticity and coziness to the space.
The relaxed and laid-back vibe of boho Western decor encourages creativity and self-expression, allowing you to curate a bedroom that reflects your individual taste and adventurous spirit.
Whether you’re a fan of bold patterns, earthy hues, or layered textures, this style offers endless possibilities for creating a relaxing and visually stunning retreat.

Boho Western Bedroom Design
For this Western bedroom design, I chose a terracotta color theme. It’s a warm color that has an earthy feel and is often used for pottery.
The bedding set, western throw blanket, and terracotta curtains set the tone for the room. The rustic dresser and matching nightstands add coziness and a farmhouse feel to the space.
The macrame cowboy hat wall hanger and boho table lamps add style and soften the room.
Corduroy Quilt Bedding Set
The statement piece in any master bedroom is the bed. Having a high-quality bedding set makes a huge impact on the room.
This corduroy quilt bedding set has a stunning caramel brown color, and the corduroy adds an attractive texture to the room. This bedding set can easily be paired with throw blankets and decorative pillows to add an extra level of sophistication.
Rustic Farmhouse Dresser and Nightstands
Dark brown rustic bedroom furniture is an excellent choice for a boho western bedroom design for a few main reasons.
Firstly, their rustic appearance adds to the cozy and inviting atmosphere of the space, echoing the natural elements often found in Western-inspired decor.
The dark brown color complements the earthy palette typical of bohemian and Western styles while providing warmth and richness. The distressed or weathered finish enhances the vintage charm.
I love incorporating dressers into a bedroom design whenever possible. Not only does it add storage space, but it also provides surface area for table decor and a vanity mirror. This 60″ rustic dresser provides a ton of storage and tabletop space to accomplish this.
Nightstands are a must-have for any bedroom. These nightstands match the dresser, and they have a built-in charging station. In addition, they have two storage drawers and an open shelf.
Boho Western Table Lamps
I chose these stunning boho Western table lamps for the top of the nightstands. They have a really pretty pattern on the lamp base and a fabric lampshade.
They have dimmable touch-control lighting and USB charging ports, making them perfect to be used as bedside lamps.
Rustic Farmhouse Light Fixture
To incorporate the theme throughout the room, I chose this flush-mount enclosed ceiling fan light fixture.
The built-in fan is practical, while the aesthetic cage makes it a focal point in the room. Take a step up from a traditional ceiling fan with this option.
Button-Tufted Ottoman
The foot of the bed is a great place to put an ottoman bench. Leather is a classic material used in many Western designs.
This leather button-tufted ottoman bench seamlessly fits into this Western-themed bedroom. Sit down, relax, and take off your shoes before turning in for the night.
Western Wall Art
I selected this framed canvas print wall art with a Western geometric pattern for above the bed in this bedroom design.
It is an affordable option for obtaining a rustic wood paneling aesthetic. If you have more budget to work with, I recommend attending a craft festival in the Southwest where artisans sell absolutely stunning handmade Western wall decor. You’ll be able to find one-of-a-kind, truly unique pieces for your home.
Terracotta Rust Colored Curtains
Curtains are an often overlooked design element for many people. Properly selecting and hanging curtains makes a huge difference in the look and feel of a room.
I love the look of layered curtains. These sheer curtain panels would look great as-is or layered with blackout curtains if you want to be able to make your bedroom dark during the day. I have a post teaching you how to layer curtains effectively.
Western Boho Throw Blanket
As I mentioned earlier, the bedding set would look great with a decorative throw blanket. This terracotta throw blanket brings out the colors of the bedding set and has a beautiful boho Western pattern on it.
The thing I love about throw blankets is you can move them around in your house, using them in the bedroom, living room, or on a reading chair.
Macrame Hat Hanger Wall Decor
One of my favorite finds for this bedroom design is this macrame cowboy hat wall hanger. Turn your favorite cowboy hats into part of your design. This reduces clutter and makes these beauties truly shine!
Terracotta Pot and Cactus Plant
A Western bedroom is incomplete without some southwestern foliage. This terracotta plant pot fits seamlessly with this room design and can be used with a variety of plants. In this bedroom design, I chose an artificial Saguaro cactus plant to go inside the pot.
A Saguaro cactus is what I immediately think of when I think about Southwestern vegetation. This cute artificial plant brings some of that nostalgia into your bedroom and is a reminder of the beautiful Western landscape.
Jute Area Rug
Incorporating many different textures in a room adds visual interest, depth, and balance. The Jute area rug is just one of many different textures in this room’s design, from fabric and leather to corduroy and jute. This rug is a great way to tie the entire room together.
