This post is all about my living room design.

Cozy Brown and Cream Mountain Lodge Living Room Design idea

I’ve spent a lot of time in the mountains over the years, and this living room design gives me all the cozy mountain lodge vibes. The wall art behind the sofa makes it feel as if you’re looking out a window at a herd of elk in the distance. I definitely imagine this room with a big, cozy stone fireplace and LOTS of hot cocoa.

Have you ever wondered what your home decor style is?

I’ve linked everything you see in the design below so you can shop the look and bring it to life in your own home. The furniture and decor pieces are from Pottery Barn, and I’ve also paired four Benjamin Moore paint colors that work beautifully with this room — scroll down to the bottom to see the design with each color on the walls!

Brown Armchair

These deep brown wingback chairs with nailhead trim are classic and cozy. Having two of them facing the sofa makes the coziest conversation area.

Area Rug

This neutral rug with little dark geometric motifs adds the perfect hint of pattern without overwhelming the room. It brings in a subtle Southwest-meets-lodge feel that I’m loving.

Coffee Table

This chunky coffee table has that warm, weathered look I just can’t get enough of. It feels like something you’d find in a mountain cabin, which is exactly the point.

Side Table

These blocky end tables have so much warmth and character with their weathered, natural look. I love how sturdy and substantial they feel next to the sofa.

Wall Art

This long, panoramic print of elk walking is the star of the show. It’s subtle and soft, but it sets that peaceful mountain mood perfectly.

Floor Lamp

This slim gold floor lamp is the perfect reading light next to the chairs. I love that the arm swings so you can aim the light right where you need it.

Table Lamp

These sleek gold lamps add just the right amount of shine on either side of the sofa. They make the rustic pieces feel a little more polished.

Cozy Blanket

This plush white throw draped over the arm is pure coziness. It adds softness and texture, plus it’s perfect for movie nights.

Throw Pillows

This combination of throw pillows draws on the colors used throughout the room and brings everything together. They make the room feel complete and lived-in.

Decorative Bowl

This simple, shallow dark bowl keeps the coffee table clean and uncluttered. It’s a great spot to toss keys or display some pinecones in the winter.

Sofa

This deep, comfy cream sofa is the perfect light base for all the cozy layers. It keeps the room from feeling too heavy and practically begs you to curl up.

Curtains

These soft cream curtains frame both windows beautifully and keep the room feeling bright. I love pairing them with black rods for a crisp, finished look.

Paint Color Matches

Choosing a paint color can be one of the most challenging aspects of designing a room. Here are four Benjamin Moore paint color options to give you an idea of how the room could look with different wall colors.

The Benjamin Moore paint color matches for this room are:

  • Dune White
  • Adobe Beige
  • Fairmont Gold
  • Wenge
