I designed this dining room with a warm, mid-century modern-inspired look. This shop-the-look mood board is perfect for a full dining room makeover!
A few of my favorite parts about this dining room design are the burgundy dining chairs and the area rug.
The chairs add a beautiful contrast in color, while the area rug incorporates colors used throughout the dining room.
In this post, I’ve included links to everything in the design so that you can recreate the look in your home. First, I’ll go through the dining table and decor, and then I’ll go through the sideboard and decor.

Curtains
For this dining room, I chose these cotton blend curtains in the shade “oatmeal.” It’s a warm and inviting color that pairs nicely with the wood tones in the room.
Area Rug
I think this multicolor area rug is gorgeous. The abstract design, with various shades, makes it a great choice for a dining room because stains will blend in a bit better than a single-colored rug.
Dining Table
I’m a huge fan of the wood finishing on this dining table. The detailed fluted pedestal adds a sophisticated feeling.
Pendant Light Fixture
Here’s a great light fixture above the dining room table. The dome shape fits in with the curved lines of the dining table and adds to the mid-century feel of the room.
Dining Chairs
One of my favorite parts of this dining room is these dining chairs. The burgundy plum color contrasts beautifully with the warm wood tones throughout the room.

Sideboard
I am completely in love with this accent cabinet. It has a simple, sleek design with beautiful wood detailing on the front doors.
Sideboards are the perfect way to add a bit of extra storage space in a dining room.
Clay Bulb Vase
The clay vases I chose for this design work well as dining table centerpieces and or table decor for the top of the sideboard.
Flower Bouquet
This faux flower bouquet pairs well with the clay vases. The flower arrangement softens the room and adds a hint of color.
Clay Footed Vase
For table decor, I prefer to have multiple vases of varying heights. This adds dimension and visual intrigue. This, and the other clay vase are shaped slightly different and at slightly different heights.
Table Lamp
Table lamps are a great way to add cozy lighting to the dining room.
Wall Art
This wall art works well above the accent cabinet or on a blank wall in your dining space.
Double Taper Candle
I’ve never seen a candle quite like this, and I love it! It’s a bit funky and unique.
Wood Side Table
Last up we have this stunning wood side table. I like the idea of this side table in a corner of the dining room with a small house plant on top of it.
If you have an open plan living room dining room combo, it would also work as a living room side table next to your couch.
