Mauve and Soft Pink Floral Dorm Room Idea

This post is all about my soft pink dorm room design.

When I started putting this room together, I wanted to design a dorm room that actually felt like a room and not just two beds crammed into a box.

Sharing a tiny space with a roommate can get chaotic fast, so I leaned into a soft color story to keep things feeling calm and pulled together, even with two of everything doubled up.

This whole layout works just as well for a shared kids’ bedroom as it does a dorm — the twin beds, the desk, the cozy chaise, it all translates.

These two abstract pieces add some artsy, grown-up flair to an otherwise very soft and floral room. I love using art like this to balance out a space.

I went with a neutral tone for the curtains so they wouldn’t fight with all the pink happening throughout the rest of the room.

I chose this table lamp for its soft green base. I thought it brought out the green from the area rug so nicely.

This chaise is basically begging for late-night phone scrolling or a spot for friends to hang out. The tufted detailing and curved silhouette make it feel like a little statement piece instead of just extra seating.

Desk chairs can often be an eyesore, but definitely not this one! It’s the cutest pink, while also being comfy to sit at while doing homework.

This rug is what sparked my idea for this entire room. The pattern is absolutely stunning, and the perfect fit for a girl’s room.

These duvets are the real star of the show with their dimensional, blooming rose detail across the top. They add so much romance and softness to the beds without needing a bunch of extra throw pillows.

This desk gives a little dedicated homework or study spot in the room. The scalloped detail matches perfectly with the nightstand.

These little gold accents on the desk add a bit of shine against the room’s soft matte textures. They’re functional too, keeping textbooks and notebooks from sliding all over a shared desk.

This board is such a sweet way to personalize a dorm space with photos of friends and family from home. It gives the room that lived-in, loved feeling that makes a dorm room actually feel like yours. I still remember my roommate and me hanging pictures in our dorm room!

These headboards add just enough texture and shape without competing with all the patterns in the bedding. There’s a bit of extra storage under the bed which is SO helpful in a small shared space.

This nightstand’s scalloped bottom edge is such a sweet detail that ties in perfectly with the softness of the whole room. The extra drawer space is great for a dorm room!

I just love how this one came together — it’s proof that a dorm room doesn’t have to feel like a boring, temporary space just because it’s small and shared.
