This post is all about my brown color palette! My inspiration for this color scheme came from a photo of a beautifully styled bed with brown and beige bedding and a coffee table tray. In this post, I will give some background information on brown tone colors, and then I will provide the color hex codes and the Sherwin-Williams paint color matches.
Brown Color Scheme
Before we get into the hex codes and paint colors, I want to provide some background information about brown colors. Brown is a color often associated with stability, reliability, and earthiness. Its warm and grounding qualities make it an excellent choice for creating a sense of comfort and security in design. In my brown color palette, I’ve carefully selected shades that embody these characteristics, allowing you to infuse your projects with a sense of connection to the natural world.
This brown palette can seamlessly integrate into various interior spaces. Consider using rich chocolate browns for furniture or accent walls to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. From earthy taupe tones to deep espresso hues, my palette offers a versatile range of options to suit any mood or aesthetic.
Brown pairs beautifully with a range of colors, offering endless possibilities for creative expression. For a classic and timeless look, pair brown with cream or beige for a soft and neutral palette. Experiment with complementary colors such as teal, mustard yellow, or burnt orange to add depth and visual interest to your designs for a more vibrant and modern feel.
Consider balance and contrast when using this brown color palette in your design projects. Mix lighter and darker shades of brown to create depth and dimension, and pair brown with complementary colors to add visual interest. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different textures and finishes to enhance the richness and warmth of the brown hues in your designs. You can create stunning and impactful designs with careful attention to detail and a thoughtful approach to color selection.

Brown Bedroom Idea
If you want to use this brown color scheme in your bedroom, here are some ideas for how to incorporate each color.
Start with a cream-colored upholstered headboard. Upholstered headboards offer timeless elegance and versatility. The cream color will allow this headboard to be used with a variety of decor styles and will match many different bedding sets. I love upholstered headboards because the padded surface provides a comfortable and supportive backrest for reading or lounging in bed.
Choose a beige bedding set with a very simple texture, such as a waffle wave or embroidered tufts. A neutral bedding set allows you to incorporate darker shades and fun patterns in the decorative pillows and throw blankets.
Use accent pillows to pull in some of the darker brown colors and the creams and taupes. Mix and match patterns and textures. The fun part about accent pillows is that you can easily get different pillow covers to change things up when you feel like your room needs a refresh.
One secret to a beautifully styled bed is to layer. Choose two different throw blankets to layer on top of the bed: one darker brown throw blanket and one lighter blanket, such as a cream-colored chunky knit throw. The more textures you can include in a room, the more dimension you can create.
Get wood-toned nightstands for either side of the bed to complete the room. The wood tones will match the overall brown aesthetic and add to the room’s earthy feel. Use matching table lamps with fabric lamp shades on each nightstand.
Tie everything together with a large area rug underneath the bed. Pick a rug that incorporates each of the brown hues from the color palette.
Finally, don’t be afraid to experiment with complementary colors such as teal, mustard yellow, or burnt orange. Adding a pop of color here or there will add personality to the room.
