Earthy Olive Home Office Design Idea

Save To Pinterest

This post is all about my home office design.

Talk about cozy. I designed this home office around an olive green earthy theme, and it turned out to have the warmest, coziest vibe. This design makes the most of a small space while providing ample storage and a chaise for lounging.

Have you ever wondered what your home decor style is?

I’ve linked everything you see in the design below so you can shop the look and bring it to life in your own home. The furniture and decor pieces are from Wayfair, and I’ve also paired four Benjamin Moore paint colors that work beautifully with this room — scroll down to the bottom to see the design with each color on the walls!

Decorative Tree

This tall leafy tree in a cream planter brings life and height into the corner of the room. It’s one of my favorite tricks for making a space feel more grounded and less sterile.

Waste Basket

A cute little wastebasket next to the desk is both practical and pretty.

Vintage Picture Frames

This little cluster of gold picture frames sits right on the desk for personal photos. It is such an easy way to make the space feel like yours.

Cream Textured Vases

These textured vases add height and interest to desks and bookshelves.

Sphere Decor Set

These little marble balls are one of those tiny styling details that pulls a whole look together. Toss them on shelves and tabletops.

Floral Table Decor Piece

Such a pretty flower figurine to round out the bookcase styling.

Decoratie Books

Decorative books are really helpful for mixing heights and rounding out the decor on shelves.

Green Desk Chair

That deep olive green against the wood desk is everything. It has a high back and rolls easily on casters, so it looks like a statement piece but still works like a real office chair.

Area Rug

This chunky woven rug in a warm brown tone anchors the whole seating and desk area.

Botanical Wall Art Set

These framed botanical prints in gold frames bring in a little vintage garden feel. I like grouping them in odd numbers above the desk because it fills the wall without overwhelming the space.

Office Desk

This desk has a lived-in, rustic wood finish and storage drawers. The varying shades of brown fit right in with the room’s palette.

Arched Bookcase

This arched bookshelf is such a fun architectural moment in the corner of the room. The curved top softens the whole design while still providing storage for books and decor.

Throw Pillow

This little pillow is a small detail, but it does a lot to connect the lounge area’s color scheme with the rest of the room.

Throw Blanket

This chunky knit blanket in the same green family is perfect for draping over the chaise for texture and warmth. I always say a good throw blanket is one of the cheapest ways to make a room feel finished.

Chaise Lounge

I needed a cozy spot in this office that was not the desk chair. The rounded shape softens up all the straight lines from the desk.

Curtains

These floor-length curtains let in soft natural light. They are an easy way to make any room feel taller and more finished.

Paint Color Matches

Choosing a paint color can be one of the most challenging aspects of designing a room. Here are four Benjamin Moore paint color options to give you an idea of how the room could look with different wall colors.

The Benjamin Moore paint color matches for these rooms are:

  • Silver Satin
  • Baja Dunes
  • Jungle Canopy
  • Fresh Brew
